With its Solaris-like whirlpool of energy, Love In The Library continues the trajectory of Ether, Shtreis’s debut album, described by The Quietus as “dreamworlds out of electronic loops with a sure-footed lightness of touch”. The second full-length work is yet more concise outlining the path of an explorer heading to her glow-imbued destination.

“Library space gives a sense of security and stability that is, otherwise, missing elsewhere”, says Irina. “It’s where one finds inner peace, either kept to oneself or a shared one. It’s a temple of thought, rare to find”. With this in mind, the artist recorded parts of the album on the premises of bigger and smaller reading and related spaces, e.g. the piazza of the British Library and the library of St Nicholas Orthodox Church in Iceland.

Born in the library environment, “Bound Volume” delivers the idea of connection through the objects in common use, miscommunication and words overpowered by the energy restoring the ties.
